2021 – TEDxUConn Salon: Looking Forward

This year's theme is Looking Forward: The driving idea behind this theme is to provoke listeners to consider adjustments in individuals’ daily lives in a digital world, post-pandemic. Use the results of the COVID-19 pandemic to better understand a more progressive, productive way to move forward. What morals, lessons, or thinking strategies can we gain from all we’ve been through?

The digital world grows day by day, even more so during the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, virtual communication grows at the expense of empathetic communication. Jonathan William talks about his thoughts on this topic and what we could do moving forward.

As activities all around the world take a pause, that does not mean all individuals have to do the same. Listen to Ashkan Novin’s view on how one can be proactive during a time when all seems impossible.

With COVID-19 affecting the lives of all those around us, it is also bringing disproportionate racism back into the light. Disparities of access to healthcare treatment is seen more clearly now than ever. Here, Faith Crittenden shares with us her view on racism as a public health issue.
